Despite that, their condition means that they cannot meet people in real life. Or let anyone know exactly what they are.Maggot is a “Hunger Necrotic" meaning they're a living corpse that has to eat human flesh to keep their body from decaying. Their body can be cut apart or damaged and they can keep on living just fine! Because of this, many unsavory characters seek them out for nefarious means. Will this little monster learn to love you, or will you just be another meal?

Consumed by guilt and sorrow, the man fell into debt and picked up a few nasty habits. Only finally “saved” by his boss Rife, who offered him a position at his real company.Now Euler, known to the larger criminal world by his alias “Coyote”, hunts humans and Necrotic alike for a living using his skills as a seasoned hunter. Raising his children to be able to fend for themselves in this increasingly cruel world. He’s paid a hefty penny to collect those who spend their summers at the local campsite, and even more to collect whatever Necrotics are created from contact with a nearby vein.This sacrifice is necessary to keep his loved ones and the world safe. That’s what he’s been told, anyway.

Though originally the strong man in their sideshow act, Tex now mainly runs the haunted house attraction as well as occasionally traveling out to snatch victims from other small haunted attractions in the area the carnival travels to.Living in the shadow of his deceased death cult leader father; Tex like the rest of his siblings feels he has to pick up where his father left off. Keeping an ancient and all consuming evil from destroying all life on earth through sacrifice. But little do they know, all they're doing is feeding it.

BOTFLY is a completely silent and menacing figure with abilities that hint that he may have had a military background before death. Though like most Necrotics, nothing is truly known about his past life. He is Rife’s shadow, mainly playing the role of a bodyguard and enforcer. It’s not known exactly why the two work together, as there isn’t much BOTFLY gets out of the arrangement. But wherever Rife goes, BOTFLY tends to be close behind. But only during nightfall.Despite his hardened exterior, BOTFLY does show a considerable amount of protectiveness towards Maggot, a Hunger Necrotic that lives with him. The two seem to have a kind of close relationship, despite their personalities being completely opposite.

Targeting sleazy older men at bars and on online dating apps. Her notoriety has given her the nickname “The Vixen”.

Your Local Monster is the passion project of a queer horror artist couple that met working at a haunted attraction!It’s a horror dating sim visual novel that takes place in the fictional town of New Salem in the 2000s. It features 10 colorful characters with their own unique chapters and storylines. With plenty of horrifying secrets to discover, and many ways for you to die a gory death.Currently, the game does not have a planned release date. We are aiming to release the demo late 2025; but that’s subject to change depending our schedules. We both work full time! Right now, the demo is planned to feature half of chapter one and two. After that, the game will be released chapter by chapter.Please be patient with us, we’re doing our best!Asher’s Bluesky is the most active social media in use. Periodic updates will be posted elsewhere though!

When are you planning to release the game?
Unsure! Ideally the demo is planned to be finished by late 2025; but that could be pushed back due to our schedules. The full game could take years to complete. But it will at least be released chapter by chapter!
Will the game cost money?
YLM and all of its chapters will be released for free on Itch.io as they’re finished. Financial support for the game will be through Ko-fi and maybe merch one day if people would ever want that! But mainly, I just want to get my ideas out there!
How often will the webcomic update?
Hopefully twice a month. Maybe more; maybe less. Depends on the complexity of the illustration in the panels and the time I have to work on it. I will post on my socials whenever the comic updates!
Is YLM an erotic horror game?
Not exactly. There are definitely suggestive and intimate scenes at times involving characters; but it isn’t the main focus of the game. You can expect to see aspects of dating site hookup culture at points as a dating site plays a pretty big role in the story! My closest comparison would be a slasher movie. That being said, we fully support the existence of erohorror and games in that genre.
Can I roleplay as, kin, selfship, etc. with your characters?
Absolutely! As long as you respect the very basic canon aspects of my characters around me I don’t care what you do! Have fun!
If I’m under 18 can I interact with you or your content?
No. This is my one hardline boundary. Do not cross it.
Is generative AI used in the creation of your art/game?
Absolutely not! Everything is drawn by me! This is also why making the game takes so long, those digital paintings take a ton of time.
